Anti Aging Recipes – Tomato Sauce Pasta

Now, we all know tomatoes as a powerful anti aging food. Tomatoes contain lycopene, which has long been regarded as one of the most powerful natural antioxidants around. One of my favorite dishes is the tomato sauce pasta. Below is our anti aging recipe today – the tomato sauce pasta that is!

There are many different types of pasta. I had chosen to use spaghetti in this recipe. Of course you can use other types of pasta such as macaroni, lasagna, vermicelli, bucatini or any other. First, cook your pasta in a pot of boiling water. How long does it take to boil your pasta? I would say it depends on the type of pasta. Refer to the packaging for cooking instructions. I would say it takes some 5 to 6 minutes to cook spaghetti until it is al dente.

While waiting for your pasta to cook, cut tomatoes into slices. Next, heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet. Throw in the onion and garlic and cook for a couple of minutes. Next, dump in tomato slices prepared beforehand. Let it cook for around 10 minutes or until the tomatoes are fully cooked. Shake and stir occasionally and at the same time, add salt and pepper to taste. Now, reduce the heat to low and add in around a cup of heavy cream. Allow the sauce to cook for another couple of minutes and then turn off the heat.

Now that you have prepared your pasta sauce. Add boiled and drained spaghetti to a large bowl. Drizzle with oil and sprinkle a cup of grated parmesan cheese over the top. Pour on the pasta sauce and throw chopped parsley or basil over the top. Toss everything inside the bowl with tongs until all the pasta is coated with sauce.
